In January this year at the Adelaide ATP tournament I received a request to meet a young cancer sufferer Jayden Green. As can been seen in the photo under the special friends category in my photo gallery, I had the pleasure of meeting Jayden, his family and his mate and spent some time with him chatting, especially about tennis and footy.

On the day, 10 year old Jayden and his family were upbeat in the hope that following a successful operation to remove a tumour from his leg, he may beat the cancer and return to the tennis court where he had shown some promise. Sadly about 6 weeks ago an aggressive outbreak in his lungs and bones was diagnosed and Jayden passed away last Thursday July 23.

To his family and especially his parents Mandy and David, my thoughts are with you, and I am glad I received the chance to meet Jayden. Rest in peace little mate.
