Hi again,

The French Open has passed for another year! I thought Lleyton did extremely well to get so close to beating David Ferrer, a great clay court player after only a couple of matches back. Whilst Lleyton was on court, Mia had a fun time playing with all the exciting toys in the creche! (She kept hoping for Lleyton to get through each round so she could go back to the creche!)

Paris was great!

Although we didn't have a lot of dry weather, Mia, my good friend Mel and I had plenty of time in our first week here to explore the amazing city! I've ventured much further than I have in previous years and seen many areas I will remember to go back to during future visits.

So apart from the famous shopping strip, The Champs Elysees, we had a day checking out St Germain, which was great! So many great shops and back streets to explore!

We also had a big day walking up to see Sacre-Coeur which is so high up you get to enjoy a great view over Paris! But it was the walk up to Sacre-Coeur that I really liked, with all the fresh food market stores along the cobble stone road. It is an incredibly steep hill to get up to the top, which when pushing a pram makes for a tough work out! (And well deserving of an ice block once you reach the top!)

But the area that topped it off for me was Montmartre. It is where all of the great local artists paint and sell their work. The artworks are incredible and so many different styles to choose from. It had such a great vibe to the area. There were also so many delicious eating places. I absolutely loved just hanging out there!

And of course, how can you come to Paris and not see the Eiffel Tower! Although we have wandered down there many times before, it is still a nice walk to get there and Mia gets very excited to see it. Her understanding of different countries, cultures, languages and famous landmarks is amazing!

So we've definitely kept our days jam packed and done HEAPS of walking! And to finish our time in Paris, we took Mia to Disneyland! We all had such a great day. It is such a magical place for kids!

So all in all Paris was great! It is an exciting, historical place that I recommend to visit. The only negatives for me (not being a smoker) is the number of people that smoke here and that there is not a lot of things to do with small children, with most of the playgrounds consisting of only a slide, but the positives far out weigh the negatives.

Next stop, Wimbledon!
