Last night “This is Your Life” was aired on channel 9. It was an amazing show and I was really grateful for my friends and family to be a part of it with me. It was a total surprise for me,I really knew absolutely nothing about it. Firstly I was just going to have a casual lunch with my good friend Alan Jones and then the next minute there were 3 cameras around me and Mike Munro walking towards me. It really took me by surprise.

There’s no doubt that it was one of the best nights of my life. It was great to have a lot of people there who have really helped me throughout my career, both on and off the tennis court. I would really like to thank Adam Gilchrist for being part of it too, he was in Perth about to play in one of the biggest matches of his life (his last match at his home ground “the WACA” before he retired) and he went out of his way to do a live cross from the WACA. Also it was fantastic to have Shannon Noll perform live in the studio to finish off the show on such a high. I’m a big fan of Shannon’s and that was the first time I’d had the chance to meet him. I look forward to being able to go to one of his upcoming concerts in Australia.

Lastly I would like to thank my beautiful wife Bec for putting alot of time and effort into helping the channel 9 crew organise this wonderful evening. It meant a lot to have so many great people there and it was a huge honour. And there’s no doubt that the best part of the night was having my beautiful little girl run out to be on the stage with Bec and myself.
